the tales of beedle the bard is a very thin book… as is evident from the time taken to read it… i bought it from the book fair this year at an almost 85% discount… i should have known then that any book with such a huge discount offered by the publisher is probably not worth the 15% you are required to pay for it.. but the author’s name tempted me to buy it… well… it is a collection of magical tales for young wizards and witches, much like we have fairy tales for muggle children.. in addition, each magical tale is followed by a comment by prof dumbledore on how the tale has been twisted across the ages to come to mean something other than it was originally supposed to… interesting easy read in some way.. but hardly captivating enough for adult attention.. but for the brevity of the book, you can actually put it down after the 5th page and not regret it… unlike a lot of other fairty tales i have read… i would have said it would be suitable for a 9-10 year old, but they would hardly be able to understand it without the context of the harry potter series..
favourite quote: pleaseee…. give me a break… this book can has nothign worth quoting…
final analysis: although it does highlight how fact and fition intertwines, how tales get twisted over the years to create biases.. i maybe reading too much or even if it were highlighting all this… the final verdict is- not recommended irrespective of age, gender, or socio-economic status…
