The Mad Tibetan is a collection of short stories by Deepti Naval. I thought these are all fiction based but some of the stories seem based on Naval’s own life. The sincerity in writing the stories seems to be the same as the sincerity that is visible in Naval’s acting, that she is more famous for. A fantastic collection of stories, the book touches your heart. The plots are quite unusual. Strangely, the ones that are fiction are the ones that seem to be more on realistic and the ones that appear to be based on her life, seem straight out of the movies!
My favourite is the one that the book is named after. The mad Tibetan was truly enchanting. It is the free spirit that so many of us crave, that alluring, just out of reach madness, that lightness of being, that the story captures really beautiful. Fantastic read. A good way to end 2018.
