A baby stork hopped into my driveway today. That little thing was not even old enough to fly. Far at a distance i could hear the bird’s parents screeching.. trying to find their baby…
My two little nieces hopped around, amazed by the sight of a creature so tiny, enter into our home. The brave baby screeched for its parents. As my nieces followed it around, it hopped outside of our home and onto the road. It was a sight. The two birds calling out to their young one at a distance, not knowing where it was… the tiny little one in front of us, hopping around helplessly, not knowing what lay in store.. my two little nieces hopping around after it and yelling to the birds to come and get their young one.. and me behind them, yelling at them to maintain a distance lest they scare it.. alternately yelling to keep an eye to ensure it doesnt fall somewhere or a dog doesnt come near it…
And a sight it was to see the mother bird fly down and envelope the little one in its wings.. protected from the world’s dangers… The other parent came soon. And slowly they got the baby to follow them… Five hours later, I can still hear the chirping of one of the birds. I don’t know if it is one of them…
How will they take the baby home? I dont know.. My niece said the mother can carry it on her back. I wonder…
