Youth is a science fiction novella, written in the fifties. The narrative describes the visit of aliens to a planet and being found by two young boys- Red and Slim. The boys capture them in the hope of taking them as show animals in a circus, where they hope to be employed. Their fathers, an astronomer who is well versed with the other worlds, and the rich industrialist who in the end promises to form trade ties with the aliens. The use of nicknames for these two boys and the other characters in the story, including the aliens, is significant in the unfolding of the plot in the end. Asimov is at his usual ingenuity in weaving an interesting tale with an even more interesting twist at the end of the plot.
The novella is a quick read, and will be equally enjoyed by children and adults. A highly recommended read for science fiction lovers.
