Twilight

Book One of the series, Meyer’s fantasy fiction is meant for the hyperventilating teenager who’s just discovered the world of romance and probably the world of reading. In saying that, I acknowledge that I have picked it up too late in life to give it a fair chance. Nevertheless, I give it credit for being an easy read and thus, I presume would be fairly interesting to a beginning reader who does not refuse to be uprooted from the real world. Besides this, the book has little to offer in terms of plot twists or literary value. 

I think it best to reserve judgment till I have finished the entire series. So much for now.

This series was picked up purely for its reputation as a best seller and the countless young girls I had overheard going crazy over Robert Pattinson (Edward). I wondered on the capability of a vampire to capture teenage hearts. It was of course available for pittance at the last book fair and I could not resist the temptation to pick up the whole series. And despite warnings from some of my friends, I have managed to finish reading the first one. This is my personal challenge to read beyond the genre I like.
