About the Book:
The book is a collection of short stories written in Urdu and translated in Hindi, by writers from Pakistan. When you read the book, you would definitely find a flavour of Urdu even in the translated version. I have read other works by Pakistani writers and I love the way they are able to describe the inner psychic conflicts of the characters they create. It can be best be described as poetic. There is a genuineness to the description which I find missing in so many other writers. Somehow, it goes straight to your heart. The other thing that I love about this book is that all the stories revolve around the ‘ordinary’. The characters are ordinary, and so are the situations. There is nothing extraordinary happening to the people in the stories. They are descriptions of just another day, just another life, just another incident. But it is so deep. It makes your more sensitive, which is sort of good and bad at the same time.
Favourite Quote: There were several. But I don’t have the book with me right now. I shall surely upload later.
Final Analysis: An absolute must read.
