The book is a collection of words of wisdom by Warren Buffet, taken from the letters that he has written to his shareholders. His honesty and wit is inspiring. It provides a peek into his life philosophy. His sense of responsibility towards others flows lucidly from his attitude towards business and of course, his innate acumen towards making money!
His writing is inspiring. Gavagan admits that he can hardly claim to be an author as most of the writing is Buffet’s own. Yet, Gavagan must be appreciated in collating together this collection of quotes. You can read them at leisure. I read them all together, basically because I couldn’t put it down.
At one or two places, you might need a basic understanding of investment terms. But I think, if you miss a quote here or there, it would still be a book that is well read.
The best thing that I have learnt from the book is that if you love your work, you will never want to retire!
