It took me a month to get back to books and a week to write the review. It is quite disconcerting ! There is more work than there is time to read and the first two months of 2020 have been very disappointing with reference to reading time and speed.
Musafir Dil was picked up because this young author took the initiative to send me the link of his book. Talk about subtle marketing. The book in itself turned out to be decent read. One of the few books by young author who are able to carry a story and flesh out its details and not give a rough sketch. The plot in itself is not new and border on the filmy. It actually has the right masala for a bollywood movie- tragedy, romance, violence, adventure… The relationship of the lead young woman and her mother is quite endearing. I wish this was worked on a bit more. The end was hurried, like an attempt to pack in everything in the few last pages. More importantly, the editing of the book is definitely below average. (I read the Kindle version.) Publishers please take note.
Simple book, for young adult readers.
