Foreign Body
Robin Cook

Foreign Body was an interesting read from the beginning. The story is located in India and that was an instant click. Unlike many other authors, Cook has stuck to the story and not spent much time in describing the locale. The little depiction of India indicates that the place has him overwhelmed!
That apart, Cook’s writing in medical fiction continues to be fast paced. This time he addresses medical tourism to Asian countries and the threat it poses to the ‘developed’ world. It also puts across the stark contrast in the faith that people in America seem to have in law enforcement, which Cook found missing in India. I am wondering if Cook would have had the same perception if he was from a different social class.
As for the story, it is engaging. At times it is a bit bugging that you already know the end in the first one hundred pages. But it still kept me reading, so I guess it is a good one.
